  • Training for life and preparation for the work of adolescents, youth and adults. Challenges for a quality education.

Life-training is part of both, the universal right to education and the right to work and have a decent employment, in line with the “double objective of developing both societies and people”. The relevance of the subjects justified by what it pays its content to the elevation of the quality and the rigor of the educational process, as well as the referral to the fulfillment of the responsibility of the organisms and other economic assets, in the formation of the new generations and the development of the qualified workforce.
Likely, the contents of the course pay tribute to the fulfillment of the objectives for the sustainable development, with emphasis in promoting a Quality education, for the purpose of which it must be taken into account to increase the necessary skills, in particular technical and professional, to access to work and to promote learning opportunities throughout life.
To advance these in ideas and understand their complexities, the course will address three basic elements: The integral training of the student and its life preparation from a more interdisciplinary, flexible, participatory and contextualized curriculum; the quality of vocational training for employment, as an element that distinguishes education for life and education for young and adults from the perspective of developer learning in the context of the struggles.

  • The comprehensive training of children, adolescents and Young people in the face of health risks and natural desasters.

In Cuba, the disaster reduction process of sanitary origin is perfected from the obtained experiences in the confrontation with extreme climatological events and the appearance of transmisible diseases that increasingly complexes the national panorama. The present presence of Covid-19 in the country , it imposed a health challenge with economic and social repercussions.
In this context, the Cuban educational sector has planned the insertion of content aimed at the prevention of disasters as part of the integral formation of children, adolescents and Young people, which demands continous and permanent preparation of the teaching staff ;the curriculum review of the contents in each of the teaching levels and its follow- up in the educational practice;family preparation;the systematic monitoring of epidemiological behaviour at the level of each educational centre and the study and updating of regulations, that includes the formation of inter-institutional and inter-sectorial plans. In the framework of the III Improvement of the National Education System , this has been a necessary topic for the formation of the new plans and curricula.
Sharing these experiences, results and challenges is the fundamental purpose of this course, so we invite managers and teachers to improve the educational strategies of the región.
